How do vets treat a respiratory infection in ball pythons? What medicine do they use?

A respiratory infection is caused by a bacterial pathogen and is typically treated with antibiotics. The vet will usually take a culture to determine which bacterial pathogen is causing the respiratory infection. Then, the correct antibiotic can be chosen to provide best effect on that particular bacterial pathogen.

The most commonly used products used to treat R.I. are Fortaz, Amicasin, and Baytryl.
