RETF and pacman frog housing Q

vickicky Dec 17, 2006 09:48 PM

Could i house a RETF and a pacman in the same tank? (plexiglass dividers of course!)

Do they have different humidity levels? Would it be bad to house a RETF and pacman in the same tank?

btw i use reptibark shredded coconut fiber as substrate. it's very humid, don't have a humidity gauge but it's humid enough that water drops form on the sides of the tank.

Please tell me that you are dividing the tank completely. That is what I'm taking from it. Otherwise a Pacman would certainly make a meal out of the RETF.

Note that it should be at bare minimum a 20 gal divided. As far as the humidity RETFs need anywhere from 60% and up and temps of 70-75 overnight and 75-85 day. They need both need water dishes at minimum. I don't have Pacmans but here is a link to their care. The site it's from is a great resource and you can search and find alot.
Pacman care

Last time I checked, pacman and red eye humidity requirements were a bit different. (ok maybe alot) And like the previous poster mentioned, the pacman would make a lunch out of your red eye. My suggestion is to get two seperate tanks for these frogs. (and no, pacmans can't be housed with anything else, not even another pacman). Also, get a hygrometer. Beads of water on the window is fine for a red eye, but I'm pretty sure they humidity requirements are different for a pac man. If you don't meet their requirements, you could be setting your frog up for respitory infections among other things.
