bought this guy as a ghost but it looks nothing like any of my other ghosts. It is adult colors and although i used a flash, the pics are pretty accurate of its actual colors. Very copper colored, especially in the head area.

Can anyone tell me what they would call it. Ghost? or something else?

thanks,
Don

It's a ghost. Ghosts are highly variable, because they express the hypo gene, which is highly variable.

does it shed clear with hardly any pattern present in the shed skin? Thats a trait of hypo's.

Not an uncommon look among male ghost corns. Females rarely have the reds in the markings like you see here, but about half the ghost corn males out there have some degree of it. Good looking snake you have there. Of course, the pupils are red from the camera flash.

Don, Thanks for the info. I know your web site very well. It is one of my favorites when looking for info on various morphs. Thank you for that resource!

I guess that would explain it, as all my other ghosts are females and I cannot recall ever having a male ghost. At least not an adult. As a baby it looked just like all the other ghosts but took on the copper color as it matured. I absolutely love its color. The pics do not really do it justice. Anyway, thanks again for the info.

Don
