Do you put the male and female together in a separate box or do you use one of their cages? Does it make a difference?

It doesn't matter. Usually you put one snake in the other's cage.

Thanks for answering both my questions so quickly.
I saw a few pictures people had posted of snakes mating and they were in plain boxes, so I wasn't quite sure what was best.

for the most part it does not matter. but i have seen many snakes that prefer being in one cage or the other when it comes to mating. i had a female that would not mate with a male in his cage and i had to put the male in her cage and then she was very receptive to his advances. this was over a matter of hours and not days. it was when i was younger and didnt know much of what i was doing but it worked and each year after that she idd the same thing so i just stopped trying to put her in his cgae in general. so it depends on the snakes sometimes but most times when the female is ready the male will always be and you could introduce them anywhere and the would mate. so if it does not work one way try another. their is no golden rules to this and alot of it is hit and miss

I feel that placing the male in the female's cage is best. Men aren't picky, but women can be. This is also the norm for most other animals.

It is said that 1 out of every 4 people are mentally unbalanced. Think of your 3 closest friends, if they're normal, then it's you.
