McFaddin W.R.

Monday - Wedneswday finds me installing hurricane shutters at McFaddin Wildlife Refuge. I will have some time to look around, having scouted the area previously 2 1/2 weeks ago. The park Rangers were very helpful, and even gave me some pointers on where to look. The last time I was there I saw some ribbon snakes and plenty of Carolina anoles as well as some red eared sliders, but most of this park is seashore and the real fun is flipping trash outside the park. I am wondering if anyone knows if any of the Sistrurus might be found in the area. This is near Port Arthur, Texas. Maybe I'll find a speckled king under some cover. We had some rain last night and the temps are fairly high. Thanks and I'll let you know what i see.

Sounds like fun, man. Love those Specks. Happy hunting. Amazing, it's warm down where you are, but we've got a nice cold front out here (SoCal).

That is a neat area. It is CRAWLING with really nice speckled kings and it is a good spot for several other species that are hard to find in Texas including..

Nerodia clarkii
Nerodia cyclopion
Regina rigida
and listen for Rana grylio calling in the marshes.

Anything going on out there in the Antelope Valley, or is this cold spell keeping everything down

Thanks Chris, as it turned out I didn't have time but to finish the job, my helpers were being lame. I have to go back in the near future by myself so I will find some time, I always have more time when by myself!
