Does anyone know of a substitute for hair ball remedy/laxative for BDs?

I can't find the tube of Laxatone, and Lizard Dude is in need of a good bowel movement. She is not using one of her hind legs much. I tried giving her a bath a little while ago with no results. Her temps are good, but she won't stay where it's warm. The reptile vet is only in a few days a week. She will be on duty tomorrow. Any ideas in the meantime?

Depending of the water temp, make it a little bit warmer. Try to get her to swim around a lot in the water. I find that mine will thrash around a little bit before they go in the water.

A drop of mineral oil or even vegetable oil..

I have 2 that will release while bathing, but 1 that just won't. He will hold it for the longest time. Lately, I've been taking him in the shower with me & poof...there it is!

A bit of mineral oil should work. I would mix it into some salad to make giving it easier. Vegetable oil won't work, because it will just be digested as dietary fat. It must be non-digestible mineral oil. It's inert, safe for humans and beardies, and should get things moving. I wouldn't use it very often though, because it depletes fat-soluble vitamins.

You can also try giving your beardie more water, or watery greens. Dehydration could be contributing to the constipation.
