I recently had a black forest test positive and I am now trying to compile data so we can figure out how this virus works and how many different strains there may be. Please email me in private or post on the forum.

How many animals did you lose?

Did you have your animals tested for the virus?

What species where infected?

What other types of snakes where you keeping and did they get infected?

Where the animals in contact with the other animals?

Was there any noticable pattern to the dieoffs?

Did any animal become infected and stay alive?

How many of the infected animals died from infection or being euthinized?

What was the symptoms that you noticed that caused the initial concern?

From the first animal becoming infected and showing symptoms did other animals become symptomatic?

Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated. If there is any added info you can provide other then the questions I asked please feel free to do so. I am really trying to get a handle on this virus so we can aid in any research so we can wipe it out. I truly believe if we can come together and work on this we can be victorous over OPMV.

What are your quarantine policies? Do you know which snake likely brought it in and where it came from?
