color help (female)

AstralDesign Dec 20, 2006 11:47 PM

just rescued a couple of corns in not the greatest shape. Need a little help determining their colors. I was told they are 3 years old, fed 2 live mice or 1 small live rat every 3 to 4 weeks. These poor things were so hungry, they gobbled down a frozen/thawed large mouse in minutes.

here is a few pictures of the female.

12/16/06 before shed

12/18/06 after shed (amazing that its the same snake)

12/18/06 belly shot

With the plain belly, and overall red colouration and normal pattern she looks like a Bloodred corn to me.

Once again, Best of Luck with them.

Oh, and if you should ever meet the former neglective owner(s), feel free to give 'em a kidney punch for me. It's well deserved.

thanks for your input. I was leaning towards bloodred as well.

She is just beautiful with a temperment to match.

She shed Monday the 18th which was horrible. She was so dirty and her skin came off in about 50 pieces. It was really nasty. You could tell she felt so much better though.

I do not understand why some people treat animals poorly. In this case I do not think the guy meant to harm them, it was just a case of not knowing enough, or doing the research needed to understand corns and take care of them properly.

looks like a bloodred. Should be eating an adult mouse once a week or so.

thanks for the input!

LOL I think they would be quite happy to get a large mouse once a week.
