OKAY HOW ABOUT A SURVEY?

I asked a question or two about light, breeding, and seasonal change,.. I am using flourescent lights with a longer daytime cycle and higher heat to instigate my geckos breeding earlier,.. I lost three eggies due to inattention last year, and I want to try again (no money involved) If you have any ideas about flourescents off-seasonal breeding and albinos being blinded by flourescent light too close to cage (12 inches) please resond,.. the only response I got was not very informative. SO If you have had success on the off season, please respond,.. thank you...

ps: think of little baby geckos with Santa hats,..

i use breeing racks, and heat tape. i keep it 90 degrees year round, because the ambiant air temp drops enough. i dont use light, and flor. light is only good to the animal if it with in 12", so if you have it more then 12 its not going to do them any good any way accept for day light cycling(which i dont do). dont take this wrong, but if you lost eggs cause of neglagence, then are you sure you would like to try it again? one other thing, i did have a bell albino that went blind in one eye from tomuch light.

One was lost cause I was on a trip, one was lost cause she hid it well, behind the egg laying box, and the other was lost because I didn't know that she was really pregnant. I put up photos and people were saying she didn't look gravid, so I missed it. I have been keeping leopards like you soince I was very young. My first lived to be around thirteen, I got her when I was ten. So I have kept them for a long time, and yes I believe it is okay for me to breed them. I have heard of people on this post who just got into leopards breeding them sucessfully. They are one of the easiest reptiles to breed. I have a hovabator, it has deli-cups, I am not afraid to use it. Thank you for the answer to my question, what was the wattage on the blinded albino you had, I am working with 40W. The lights are positioned directly over their ten gallons.

ive been able to get my lil guys to get it on off season regularly. considering the ambient temp in my house doesnt change at all during the entire year i have certain geckos who breed at different times based on the yearly cycles they're used to. and being as most of em have been on these yearly cycles since birth i have yet to have any problems with it.

I would only use the lights to cycle and use a heat pad to provide heat. The light doesn't need to be too intense to cycle these guys they are nocturnal, they just need to know when day and night are.
