Heres the uros

Boy can I relate! We had a snow storm earlier this month that took out our power for 6 days. We couldn't even get out of the driveway plus they didn't plow our road (1.5 miles to the main road) for several days so there was no way to get anywhere. Naturally our Uro building generator decided to give up the ghost (it was pretty ancient so I should have known better than to count on it. So we had to scramble to come up with a working generator to keep the building from freezing (it was 8F that Monday and 9F that Tuesday so we were panicking). That building is extremely well insulated but it can't take day after day in the low teens with no heat.
We finally got power back that Friday only to loose it again the follow Friday in a wind storm! That outage was only a little over a day so it was much less trouble to deal with. This Nov-Dec have been the worst on record for our area as far as power outages. Between record floods, ice/snow storms and near hurricane winds, it's been far too "interesting" a winter so far. They say bad things happen in threes and we've had 3 beauts already so I'm hoping we're done!
