Best albino investment: Sharp or khal?

Loriehadin Dec 21, 2006 08:13 PM

I'm just wondering what the best investment albino's and reasons for thinking so.

Basically i'm thinking of investing a pair of 100% hets and wondered what strain would be more profatable to work with.

Also, please include what you think make better breeding pairs ect...

Many thanks, Lorie.

Get what you like but Sharp would probably be the where there is more profit to be made, there hasnt been as many produced and havent been as many crosses, just think it through. as for better pairing if your set on a pr of 100 hets there isnt much room for discussion get a male het and a female het thats it now if your willing to put more cash in your investment you could venture out to get DH Sharp Sunglows or a pr of DH Sharp Snows, or maybe some Triple het Sharp Snows or either line of Albino mixed with other genes as well. Its all on how much you want to put into it, the more you put into something the greater the risk the greater the reward. BTW its not good to look at animals from the profit aspect, this isnt the Ball Python forum here.

I agree with Billy,There is so much more that has not been done with the Sharps. We have both strains, but I have stopped buying Kahls and started building up on Sharps. They are nicer looking also, even more as adults!!!!

401K's can work out pretty good
Forecasting futures on a "Hobby" aint a very smooth move.
Some will argue, but generally its from the "already invested" that draws the greatest HOOORA !Trying to run with the big dogs in this hobby generally produces a bunch of Hets for Pound Puppies

In my opinion the best pairing would be an Albino male and a Het for Albino female. The strain doesn't really matter. Sharps are more expensive and are suppose to be more colorful as adult. At the same time Kahls are less expensive and bred properly they can be just as colorful as adults. Choose what you can afford and like the best.

Having said that.........

Please don't get boas just because you want an "INVESTMENT!!"

Get what you want because you enjoy boas. Getting boas as an investment can lead to major dissappointments. There's no gaurantee they'll ever reproduce. I do realize that if they do reproduce you can make some extra cash, but there should be more to having them than just "extra cash". Just get what you want and enjoy having them as a hobby. If you get get babies down the road, that would be AWESOME!!! There's nothing like seeing your boa give birth for the first time. It's such a RUSH!!
Anyway good luck. Hopefully some day you'll be posting pictures of you first babies.
