i was also wondering if a 3'long*2.5'deep*5'tall is a big enough cage for one male jackson.

That cage size is plenty big enough for a Jacksons! Remember to keep them cool - over 82F is a big stressor!

i was just wondering how old your jackson is?
That will be a nice cage and you will be able to provide a gradient of temp and humidity and lots of hides for him. Captive age is really difficult as so much depends on his early care (is this a juvenile?), your exact care and nutrition, and simple heredity. 5 years would be good I think, but it could vary a lot.
yes, i do bellieve that they are juvies the male has a nice set of horns on him and his probibaly about 4 inchs snout to vent. do you think that size cage(as previuosly mentioned)would be ok for a pair?
He's 3.5 years old. I have his son as well - carbon copy. Personally I wouldn't house a pair together. 5' or 3'away, if he's in the female's eyesight and she's not in the mood, she'll stress big-time. Basically you'll have a dark, dark female Jackson's that hides all the time. Here's some pics of the last brood I had - 14 born and only lost one. Others are the male I held back. Bill

BILLY! Those guys turned out SOOO handsome!
When's the next batch due???

Wow, long time no chat! I have one for sure gravid female and one "possible" - hard to tell, unlike a Veiled! I'm always amazed at how many babies they can carry w/out looking bloated!
I also waited an additional 6 mos. AFTER they were mature enough to breed just to make sure they had adequate reserves. Its a whole lot different when you're expecting babies, unlike when you enter the room and see a bunch of little dark aliens climbing all over the place. Its nice to have the lead time to get the fruit fly cultures really established.

I know, I miss you too!! Congrats on your Melleri
He is extra cool!
You will definately have to post LOTS of pics of the new babies when they get here!! They are the cuties little things ever!!! Happy Holidays to you!!!

Same to you my friend! I guess I've been in hiding long enough! LOL. The Veileds and Jackson's are getting close so I'm busy. Then I'll have all those little critters to contend with.
I'm building 4 4' cages that will hang from my north wall that is covered in Jasmine for when it starts to warm up here in Vegas. They'll be removeable. It won't be long here before they can all go outside for a few hours in the PM sun.
I have 2 gravid Green Tree Pythons due to drop any day and the Emerald Tree Boas are just about to be introduced..so it could be an awesome few months ahead here at "Casa de Billy". Here's a pic of what some of us Herpers do in our spare time.... a different scaled beastie for sure!
Why is it that no matter how "Busy" you men seem to be.. there is always time for fishing??? LOL!! You almost had me convinced that you were truely "busy"!! I'll have to ask the Mrs. Billy what the real story is! BUT that is a big ol' nasty fish!! Did you eat it or stuff it??
I'm jealous of your outdoor cages! Right now I can't leave my house without some type of floatation/anchor/avalanche device! The weather here is nasty and dumb. One week we are snowed in, the next week we are ice bound, the next week it's tropical rain storms and then the next week it's hurricane type winds!! The only thing we are missing is 90 degree weather!!
I lost power for a day (I was lucky), and had to pack up all the kids in boxes with heat packs. The frogs went in deli containers and the dogs had there coats and hats on!! Lucky no one froze any toes off!!
