Baby Peruvians

schwarty2 Aug 08, 2003 03:54 PM

21 born last night to a young female. Our other gravid female looks even bigger than the first one did. I was surprised at a clutch this big. Any thoughts out there?

They sure are cool little critters!

I'd love to see what the differences are.
Thanks,

I will when I get some decent photos and can figure out how to get them on this site. Might be next week...thanks.

They're really cute, and awfully defensive. One chewed on my finger last night and actually broke the skin! What a kick!

We have some retic python eggs as well, and as of an hour ago a few albino heads were poking out. This is shaping up as one heck of a weekend....

sure these are peruvians? Still amazing how many people claim true peruvians when they are nothing more than brazilians....

So far every scale count we have done on the colony has been at 42, so we're pretty comfortable with it. We need to have undisputed proof before we sell them as Peruvians, and we will.

If they are Brazilians, they are amazing Brazilians. I'm not sure the price structure these days makes it advantageous to tout "Peruvian" over a super nice Brazilian. We will get it right before we market them.

Any more reliable criteria than scale counts we need to know about?
