my snake died of a resp infection about 2 weeks ago ,,can someone tell me how this thing works,,,

i mean what are the causes of it,,and how long can a snake last with resp infection,, and anything else ,,

im still trying to figure out what went wrong,,

1.) what substrate did you use?

2.) what cage? was it well-ventilated? Well-cleaned?

3.) Did you ever take it for a "walk" (I see many people like to take "outside pics" of their snakes and to me that spells trouble)?
