My gray tree frog is blue and lifeless! I was gone for 5 days and my room-mate was supposed to be replentishing the frog's food and water. I just now got home and found my frog blue, looking a little smaller, and appearing dead. She was in the "perching position" next to her EMPTY waterdish. I can't get ahold of my room-mate to determine whether or not the water was replaced/refilled as it should have been. There are a few crickets hopping around so I know she didn't starve. All habitat conditions are normal except for the water. Is it possible she got confused during this cold weather and decided to hibernate? I've read they turn blue when they do. Does anyone know how long these little creatures can survive without water? If they turn blue when they die? Or perhaps any way to distinguish between hibernation-mode and death? Please help!
