Introduction, and Happy holidays!

Hey everyone,

I've been lurking around and reading pretty much everything here on the ball python forum and also on the hognose forum for a good while now. I think I've posted a few times as well. I've learned so much here. I've loved reptiles ever since I was very young but although I've always wanted one I was never able to own any until recently.

Before I bought my first snake, I'd always been interested in getting one and I'd read for hours/days about everything I would possibly need. Forums like this however are what have given me the most knowledge.I've learned so much that I have knowledge to spare and share with others. For example, even if I have never had the problem of a tough shed, if someone else is having issues, I know what the likely cause is and how to help it. And though I haven't gotten to the point of force feeding my snakes (Lucy's getting there!), I know what to do if I absolutely need to.

As for me, my dream is to someday have enough room to keep a collection of some of my favorite snakes and and lizards and maybe even breed some. Unfortunately, right now I don't have room (or money) for any more! Blame college. By the time I do get where I want to be though, I'll have a good knowledge of much more than most caresheets or booklets will tell me, and it's thanks to all of you who post here on these forums that I have the head start ^_^ Thanks guys! Keep it up!

---Anyhow, Here's a photo intro of my girls,

Here is Cleo, (Cleopatra) my normal Ball python who was an early Christmas present this year. I got her from The Reptile Image at a herp show. She just ate so I just let her be in that position even if it isn't the best photo op:

Here's a couple of Lucy, my Western Hognose, I got her this summer. (My mother finally admitted reptiles could be cute, haha) She is still very small, a bit of a worm. I describe her to my snake fearing friends in a hope they'll reconsider meeting her and they're still scared to death, I just don't get it, shes too tiny to be afraid of!

These pics are coming from the new Canon powershot A540 I got for Christmas. Hooray for early christmas presents! I don't know how to use cameras that well though, so if they're less than great, my apologies. (maybe I should visit a camera operating forum, hehe)

I really do appreciate everyone who posts here. I hope you all have a merry Christmas. And for all of you breeders, a great breeding season.

-----------

Wishing all the best,
Crystal(me), Cleo, and Lucy

Sidenote: Thank god I copied this to a notepad before I tried posting it.... Phew!

Glad you're enjoying your animals! I feel much the same way you do, although I had a snake for years before I actually really started doing research and becoming interested in more than just showing her off to my friends. Thanks to the help and the posts from people on this forum I even managed to successfully breed her this year! (I've got three good eggs in the incubator :D)

Have a very great holiday!

And your snakes are gorgeous, too.
