I have a slight problem with my new Spider Ball pair that I purchased and are being shipped next week. The only place to keep the tanks for the snakes is in a "bunkhouse" without a central heating system. I spent the night in this bunkhouse last night and realized it gets much too cold to house the snakes without a large amount of supplemental heating equipment.
The Questions:

The room temp. drops to ~50 degrees F. as of right now, only a infrared heat lamp has been purchased. What else could i get to keep this tanks heated?

I am thinking about an undertank heat pad to span the entire bottom of the tank, with the help of the lamp i think that would be the best to keep the temp. at ~80ish...

BUT, if you have ANY suggestions... as to where to house them (closet? keeping it in a smaller space that could hold some heat?) or other options on the heating choices.

also, humidity is a problem. I have always just misted my snakes with a spray bottle to keep up the humidity... but i will not be the primary caretaker of these snakes, my little brother will be. So i would like to make this as foolproof as possible, as to not let him "forget" to mist, or turn on the heaters.

(Dont worry. These snakes will not be neglected and they wont be housed anywhere where the temperatures are unsafe.)
