Apropos of virgin births, check out the Reuters article on Flora, a Komodo Dragon from the London Zoo, who may be giving birth on Chrismas through parthenogenesis. She is the second case at the zoo where fertile eggs have been produced without a male lizard. Thus, a female lizard can swim to another island and lay fertile eggs, all male, who will then mate with Mom and the new colony is established. Fascinating!!
I sure appreciate this forum (thank you Eve) and all you other Chuckwalla fans. I loved the pictures of the agamas-a GREAT Christmas photo--and the mutts are just as precious! LOL Merry Christmas to all and a happy holiday in general and see you all again for our fabulous 2007!
