How Would You Describe These Easterns?

bradstyle Dec 24, 2006 05:48 PM

I am looking for a pet Eastern that looks like one of the snakes in the images below. How would you describe their colors & markings? I'm new to the hobby and want to be able to communicate to a breeder exactly what I'm looking for.

Thanks

The one on the right is considered a melanistic and the one on the left is just a reg one. Just describe the colors. By the way, they come in all kinds of colors and you can't tell when they are hatchlings what color they will turn out. Having the parent snakes gives you a clue. They are mostlye grey and black as babies. Some have orange and yellows. That's what makes these soo fun to breed!

I'd describe them as awesome. I didn't know eastern hogs were naturally that variable. Someone should put together pics of the snakes and their patterns from lots of different locales as form what I understand they've got quite an extensive range.
