Savannah Monitor Help

Herpitologer Dec 25, 2006 11:42 AM

I have so many questions on them, one is what should be the temperture at the basking spot and how hot should the tank be at night and in the day. I was also wondering can i keep a Savannah in a 6ft by 2 ft cage

basking should be 120-130*F while the cooler end of the cage be in the upper 70's and a hotter end in the upper 80's and 90's. Sounds confusing. I try to offer everything from 78 to 130. They'll go where it is comfortable for them.

6x2 is a little small. Shoot for at least 3 feet wide, 2 is too narrow. Depending on the lizards size, a 6 foot long cage may also be too short.
