Rainbow question

May be a dumb question but will taking my Rainbow out in sunlight hurt his eyes?

I've taken mine outside many times with no ill affect.

They are tropical rainforest ground dwelling animals (filtered light) so I would not leave them in direct sunlight for any extended time.
