BSaxon94 Dec 25, 2006 12:49 PM

Does anyone know of someone who is importing wild caught Leopard Geckos at this time?

Why would you want wild caught leopards when they are so easily bred in captivity here?

new genetics and all the things that come with that. If anyone catches wind of some imports i'd like to know as well; especially if they are from India.

India doesn't export leopard geckos. The only country that does at this point is Pakistan. However, there isn't much of a monetary reason to collect so there aren't many field collectors, if there are any at all.

Gotcha, didn't think of that. Excuse my ignorance.

From what i understand they are hardly exported at all, but that doesn't mean it cant and won't happen legally once in a blue moon. That is unless India has banned exporting them....

My reason(s) for wanting some wild caught leos are just as is stated by chameleonphil. There are so many color/pattern/size variations of the leopard gecko already in captivity, one can't help but wonder what other genetic variants may still be in the gene pool of some of the still wild geckos.
