Pictures, pictures, and more pictures!

Periscope is the reason I typo.

My Mom and my dog (watson) - he sure had quite a bit to say about having his picture taken!

Darwin hada check out the box JUST in case it was a good hidey hole.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday!

I bought all of the reptiles presents (Christmas gives me a good excuse to do that without the parents getting annoyed at my spending). Some of the larger presents were new enclosures for my newest hatchling russian tort (that I hatched on november 17th), and my girlfriend's white's treefrog (exo-terra 18"x18"x24" glass enclosure). Everyone else got some new things as well, whether it was new food items or new items for their enclosures.

Perhaps the best Christmas gift this year, my yearling BP just went back on feed. He's taken 2 large mice so far, and he's waiting for his third to finish heating up, and then I'll cut him off until next week. He is a really good eater most of the time, but he is sexually mature so he had taken the last couple of months off

I also managed to get some nice herp related gifts. A nice digital scale that weighs up to 15 pounds and has tons of cool features (I think my mom got it from LLLreptile...it's the 7000 something or other). I also got a 24" snake hook, for when Steve the BP gets unruly during feeding times, and 18" hemostats. Oh, and the 'Ball Pythons in the Wild' DVD which I'm in the middle of watching. I recommend it to any serious reptile hobbyist.

The best thing about christmas though is having an excuse to spend time with my family. it's been a wonderful holiday. I hope everyone else here has had a great time, whether they celebrate christmas or not.

I didn't mean that both the russian tort and the white's tree frog are in the exo-terra enclosure. The enclosure I got for the hatchling russian tort is a really deep and short reptile enclosure I found at a local herp shop. Sorry if that was confusing

I have to disagree: "...the 'Ball Pythons in the Wild' DVD which I'm in the middle of watching. I recommend it to any serious reptile hobbyist."

I have it. I DO NOT LIKE IT. It is safe to say that it is not for everyone.

I think it is neat because it shows a lot of footage from the Ball Pythons' native environment... but not much useful information is given beyond that visual. I was very disappointed - and largely because I feel the DVD cover made claims about information available on the DVD that was not there. I am pretty angry I spent money on it, but I did learn some things. Most specifically, the DVD contains a lot of footage of the manner in which Ball Pythons are captured in the wild. If you don't expect any more from it than that, you can be happy.

Merry Christmas everyone!

But I didn't get it for any information. I actually got it because I have the 1998 reptile hobbyist issue where all of the information/data was explained (long before the DVD came out), so I got the DVD as basically a visual to go along with that. If you can get your hands on that issue of 'reptile hobbyist', it makes the whole thing a lot more understandable.
