I got some corns I was keeping together, and as a result, I didn't spend much time with each of them individually.
I just made a rack for my hatchlings, and am currently making a rack for my yearlings, so I can keep them individually.
While feeding I noticed one with a retained tail shed. I freaked.
I tried to remove the retained shed, but the flesh under it was already dead.
The very tip of the tail is now black and the little guy lost maybe 1/8" of the tip of his tail.
So, is the tail dead?
Will it all fall off?
Do I have to take him to the vet so the vet can amputate?
Or now that he has good circulation in the tail, will it scar and be ok?
Waiting to make a vet appointment until the answers start coming in.
I will keep them individually as soon as my yearling rack is done, maybe today or tomorrow, I now see the wisdom of keeping them individually.
