Non-eating Ball Python and odd eyes

mickiemagik Dec 26, 2006 06:25 PM

I am posting this for my roommate. He has had his ball for about a year with no problems at all. It ate and was friendly at all times. It has stopped eating for over a month even with a rat crawling on top of him. I put one in last week and he became alert and chased it around, but never took a strike and never ate it. Today his eyes are glazed over and white, yet he is still breathing. I am curious if he is just sick or if something else could be wrong. Thanks everyone.

He is going to shed. They tend to not feel very well just before a shed. It's normal.

It's also normal for them to go off feed for a period of time in the winter.

So long as your friend is practicing good husbandry with this snake, I would not worry about him. He sounds fine.
