I have a pair of Eastern Collared Lizards and a pair of C. binctores, atleast I think thats how you spell it. I wish to breed both pairs but was wondering what size they should be. My binctores I was told are mature, I posted pics of them some time ago and was told that there tail reserves were used up. I have been beefing them up and they look much better. My female eastern is quite large and fat, but the male is a bit smaller. I believe she is of breeding age but not him. I am a first time collared breeder and am open to any tips on breeding them.

....until they have been brumated. I have a female that has become gravid without brumation, but since the males in her enclosure are young and haven't been cooled, they are clueless as far as what that means LOL. It is extremely important to have your lizards in PRIME shape before putting them through brumation, and I would not suggest you attempt to brumate a lizard without having it fully plumped out in all its fat reserves. Wait for fullness LOL.

Is telling them that winter has come and gone, so they know it is the right time of the year. Sometimes they breed without being brumated become they got some other hint as to the time of year. Males that have not been brumated probably thing they are at the end of an 18 month summer, and are laughing inside at the female, who ACCUALY knows that it is the right time of the year.

When you get it all worked out as to exactly *WHAT* hint to give them, and when to give *it* to them, be sure to let me know. I'd way rather hint my lizards than brumate them LOL.
