Baby blackthroat obesity.

roger van Couwen Dec 26, 2006 07:56 PM

Hello,

I posted a ways back about my new baby blackthroat. The only thing I don't know how to asses as I rear it, is it's possibly getting obese in it's infancy. Like I said, it's only five inches SVL, and eats like there's no tomorrow. My question is, since I want to do my best, is whether at this time I should be on the lookout for obesity yet?

I remember few years ago I posted this photo, showing a 4 month growth in microsticus, I also mentioned that my black throat grew a little faster.

That was posted on the other forum you visit, back then I was told my monitors where obese and that I shouldn’t keep these animals. In fact the guy who said this (don’t remember if it was you?) didn’t even know these monitors inflate like chuckwallas when handled.
One thing I do remember correctly, every time I answered you on any board, You ignored me each time. Thanks!

I hope you get your answer.

I think this was covered pretty extensively a few weeks back. You might want to look back and read that thread. The simple explanation is juvies with access to proper conditions don't get obese. An obese juvie is a sign that something is off in your setup. Jobi's pics illustrate what should be happening quite well; tons of growth.
