I noticed today that my baby condro has a small"pop" sound when he breathes.It almost sounds like a snot bubble popping?RSV maybe?If so,what can I do?I just recently upped the humidity to help shed.Hope I didn't overdo it.

Just thought I'd add...My sub-adult chondro and my diamond X coastal carpet is doing this also.It's not a constant wheezing...just an occasional "pop" sound 1 or 2 times a minute.I'm only worried because I've been keeping my cages pretty damp as far as moisture goes.

We've noticed this before on both our ball and GTP. It is after we've sprayed them or put them in water to help out a shed and they have never gotten an RI. I think it's some scales that get wet and when they breath real heavy it makes this noise. It might not be a bad idea to have it checked out at a vet though.

I've also noticed this when they are about to shed.

Thanx soooo much you guy's,I think your right!!!!.I looked this morning and my baby gtp is shedding as we speak.What a relief!I work very hard to do my best to keep my snakes healthy.

I know how you feel. I worry all the time about mine and if they act just a little off....I get paranoid. My one gave me a heart attack because I was giving him his usual evening spray and he blew a bubble and it just stayed there. I'm thinking...OMG!! RI...he's got crap coming out...but it turned out to just be water over a nostril. I felt like an idiot. I watched him for a good long time though to be certain

Well,he had a full shed and no more popping sound.I will keep an eye and ear out for a while though.

chondros tend to make those noises during a shed cycle. you may also notice the head looks a little inflamed or swollen due to fluid build up during shed.
