Very nice!!! Hope he recovers so he can spread his colorful genes! Kevin
He's gorgeous! I've only ever seen one in person, mine.
How do you treat a snake for RI? I am currently treating a boxie, who is getting a series of ten shots of Baytril, once a day for ten days, and I'm keeping him at about 90F. Just wondering how snake treatment compares.

Baytril administered orally by a syringe. You just have to be carefull to ensure the dosage is correct in relation to body weight.
I have bad news about the beautiful male hog.He passed away today. He had gotten his first dose of Baytril but,it just came too late. The owner of this snake is "old school" and he has a lot of stuff to die.He keeps everything in one cage.I give up!I'm not used to having animals die in my house. Jeff
I forgot to add,he was taken to a vet,@ my expense.
That sucks, I'm sorry. He was so pretty.

That sucks! I've read posts by FR and always remember what he wrote about taking snakes from the wild. If we do so, then we owe it to the snake to provide it w/ a better life than it would have had had we not come along. In my book that includes whatever medical treatment it might need.

Too bad it didn't make it. Thank you for taking it upon yourself to help it out. I hope the person who owned it at least learned something from this. I also rescued a Monitor this year who had severe thermal burns. He is now recovered and the scare is shrinking every week, but it is still hard trying to find someone to adopt him. I still consider what you did as a rescue. You took him from a bad place into hands that could help. It was just unfortunate it didn't make it. I wish more people out there were like you, giving back to the animals that give so much to us.
