I have a male and a female living together. To my surprise this morning, there was a little baby in the tank with them!
My question:
I figure I will, but should I remove the dad from the tank? Is it possible he would harm the baby?

I would leave the father in!!!! I have found they do fine with the male left in. The only time you really have to worry is when the baby starts to reach maturity and then it is usually only a worry if the baby is a male or if the baby is a female and you are worried about inbreeding. Good luck,Monkey Tails are awesome. You must be doing a good job because these are one of the harder species to breed in captivity(in my opinion). Again good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!
You might not believe it, but half an hour after I posted this, she gave birth to another! I've got twins! It's amazing!
I suppose maybe I will leave pops in there with them. Thanks for the suggestion!
Pictures!
Here's the mom and the first baby:

Wow, those are some pretty skinks. I love the daddy skinks dark coloration, and his irises are an unusual color. Very pretty, but unusual. The newborn skink iris color is amazing. It is too bad their irises don't stay that color forever.
It is weird, my male was born exactly five years ago tomorrow. Must be the mommy skinks want to get over with the births before the new year. I am so envious of your twins. My female is expecting, but she only has a singleton brewing in there. She is likely due within the next month.
As previously stated, it is fine to leave the father in with the babies. In fact, don't be surprised if he attempts to amputate some of your digits when your hand is anywhere near his offspring. That is an amazing thing about this species, parental care. Mom will very likely be aggressive towards you, so watch out. Enjoy the little ones. Jrbl
CONGRATULATIONS on your twins.... so adorable!!
How large is the tank you house them in?
