Those are pretty nice looking animals. As someone who has never had monitors but would like to in the future, I hope you can answer a couple of questions for me. Can you tell me approx. how big those guys are and the dimensions of your enclosure for them? Thanks in advance.

They are around 26-30" inches right now and I do not expect them to get much bigger. I keep them in a 8x3x2 trough with about 12" of substrate in it.

They will get bigger. The females up to 3ft. The males a 3 1/2 feet. But you CAN make the males bigger, if you want. hahahahahaha Cheers

Ok, I was a bit off on my "guesstimates". These came from you back in June. The pictures do not do their color any justice. Any size would be great as they are interesting monitors and exhibit all types of great behaviors.

It does appear to be 2.1. They look good.

Look at it this way, you got them in June, they are that size already, and they can grow for many years to come. hmmmmmmmmmmm look out, a giant monster cross, hahahahahahahaha. Cheers

My thanks to both of you for the response. The reason I ask is that I'm somewhat limited by the size of enclosure I'll be able keep - I really can't go bigger than a ~72"x30" footprint. Sounds like the three way crosses may get a bit too big to be comfortable in something like that. In either of your opinions, are there any of the sand-type monitors that would generally be ok in something of that size? Thanks again.

Glad that someone else thinks that they are a reverse trio as well. I emailed you about more and also flavi hatchlings.

Cheers.
