I have two female pastel RESs. One sheds pretty much constantly; the other never sheds. They are in a 106 gallon tank with 1200+ GPH multi-stage filtration, 24"/36" Zoo Med Reptisun fluorescent bulbs, six heat lamps with a ninety degree air temperature in their (completely dry) sunning area and an 82.5 degree water temperature. Dr. Turtle is added per manufacturer instructions with each water change. Both turtles feed on dry food, and frozen krill, prawns, silversides and blood worms every other day. During the past year they have grown several inches and are active and alert with no shell rot.
Is this one turtle's shedding normal?
Why does one shed and not the other?
