Thanks for the great pictures, Gidi! I have asked it in another post (wich you haven't read I presume), but I will ask it again if you don't mind: how is the temperament of your adults? Can you handle them without getting bitten? I would also like to ask wether you're keeping the snakes in a rack or in a terrarium? What are the dimensions of the cage? And last but not least: how big (length) are the adult O. p. laticinctus?
Kind regards,
Bert Grit
Dear Bert,
Sorry for my late reply, but finely, here it is.
They both (male and female) have a good temperament. You can handle them without any problem.
We keep them seperated in terrariums (which you can see on the pictures) 60*50*40 (length, weight, high) cm.
They are now 2.5 years old and I think about 70-80 cm. They will grow to about 80-90 cm I suppose.
Hopefully I have answerd your questions in the way you want
.
Best regards,
Gidi
Hi Gidi,
Thank you for the answers! I've got a CB 2006 male from Andreas Gumprecht, so that's why I wanted to know these things.
My male is quite aggressive (when disturbed, he immediately strikes and bites), but I guess this subspecies will become much calmer with age then.
Thank you for the excellent pictures (the last three are very nice); there aren't many good pictures of adult O. p. laticinctus on the web. I can tell you that I cannot wait to see my snake grow and turn red.
Kind regards,
Bert Grit
Enjoy those incredible looking beasts.

John
Simply amazing animals.

So, Gidi and Bert, do you take the your hatchlings to this place?

Bill,
You will not get to see me in Hamm. I've been there once (to pick up a hatchling Mandarin ratsnake) and I found it far too crowded. I traveled 5 hours to get there and I hardly managed to get to see a couple of snakes. I saw some Ballpython morphs when I went to the toilets, because they were being displayed right next to the toilets, but that was pretty much it!
Regards,
Bert
