Housing multple Alli Snappers ???

justincredible Dec 29, 2006 01:40 PM

I have a 75 gallon tank and two alli snappers that are 5 inches in shell length. They have been housed individually for the past 4 years and now that I have this big tank I was wondering if I could house these two turtles together safely?

Anybody tried this yet?

Thanks for any and all help!

already got my answer. Called John Richards of Turtlemandotcom and he said it was a-okay as long as the turtles are around the same size. Alli snappers are not bullies in the tank like the Common Snappers.

yes, but if you drain the tank for cleaning they are not so friendly, they'll bite anything near them. they dont like being out of water. but at that size they probably cant do too much damage to each other. in the water its sort of neat to watch them feed together. most of the time they'll try to avoid biting each other when feeding on the same fish one of them has caught. my 4" snappers are always dug in the gravel next to each other like they like each others company.
