In case you have'nt seen, the polar ice caps are melting like crazy. I have'nt been able to find any info as to what we are doing about it. I mean what the h, come on we're dying here.

climate change is a fact of life. Global warming is real but that doesn't mean it's man made AND it doesn't mean we can nessarily do ANYTHING about it. Stop watching algore movies.

For your information I've never even watched an al gore movie. I saw a very large chunk of ice break off the polar ice cap. I was asking a simple question because anyone else I did ask would respond the same exact way your article explained. But I mean why not try and find a different oppinion, I'm very sorry for not being an expert but the ocean going up by inches a month does'nt sound like something natural. Not saying it could'nt be over exaggerated or even right. I'm not one to believe anything on TV. I'm was just asking. Try not to be a flaming jerk next time.

Go reread your original post. What kind of responds did you expect??????????? Beside if you look at and read about the piece of polar ice that broke free it did so 16 MONTHS ago in the summer time of 2005. Leave it to the ding dongs in the media to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

I said I did did'nt I? God forbid I don't watch the news everyday, I mean I knew it was happening. I just never heard of it happening that big before. I don't watch the ice cap news channel either so sorry for not hearing about it last year in the summer when I was outside nearly 100% of the time. I'm just saying you could have responded a little better.

I NEVER watch the boob tube news. I get my info from a number of internet sites. Your polar icecaps story wasn't reported until 2 or three days ago. Thats what makes it so stupid. The "ice shelf" fell off in August of 2005 but they just discovered it a few days ago by comparing old satellite (sp) photos and the ice shelf just moved off a few thousand yards and refroze.

Here's the funny part. This kind of junk science has probably been happening for century's but we never had reliable satellite photo's to get us all worked up.

Lets see I'm almost 50 now, in the 60's we were all gonna die from a nuclear exchange, in the 70's it was the population explosion and the comeing ice age, in the 80's it was acid rain, in the 90's it was the ozone layer and the destruction of the rain forest, then in 2000 we were all gonna die because of Y2K...... remember. Now it's G L O B A L W A R M I N G Oooooooh.

Did you ever hear of something called the dust bowl in the 1930's???? You might want to read up on it. This planet has seen far worse and we're still here.

One last thing. You might want to check out the info the national solar observatory has been studying for the past 10 years. They can explain alot about the real reasons for global warming AND cooling.

Now go back and reread your original post. Sounds a little silly doesn't it.

I'm sorry. I just looked at your profile and I can see you're still pretty young. Sorry if I sound like a jerk to you.

Just don't take much of the pseudo junk science most of the main stream media outlets feed you seriously.

Look how they treat snakes. You're only 17 or 18 years old and you know far more about reptiles than 99.9% of journalist.

What's supposedly "common knowledge" is worth just about nothing. We've got plenty of problems in this world and global warming is just about at the bottom of the list.

My opinion is pretty much the same as "vichris". Based on what I've read, and I've read a lot on both sides of the fence, global warming is taking place a lot slower than most scientists and media make it out to be. Plus, there is no proof that humans are progressing it, although I do think there could be a few things that might could aid/abet it. Global warming has been taking place since the beginning of time.

Last year's hurricane season was blamed on global warming by many. They said that global warming was the cause for so many severe hurricanes in one season. The fact is that there have been seasons with as many, and more, bad storms (even worse storms) in times past. Weather patterns repeat themselves anywhere from every 30 - 70 years.

We cannot control the universe, the movements or effects of the planets within it. Earth, meet your destiny. In time, it will.

Enjoy your life, and don't fret over the things you cannot change.
