New Mojave Morph?

furcharlie Dec 29, 2006 08:37 PM

Thought we would share what I believe is a new morph from a male Mojave bred to our Santa Cruz line of Super Pastels. Any input is great! Steve

Why do you think it is a new morph, and not just a SuperPastel Mojave?

bakerreptiles Dec 29, 2006 10:19 PM

Sounds like someone is afraid of someone else raining on their mojave-cross parade. If you read the post, this ball is the offspring from a Mojave to a Super Pastel. That breeding would never produce a Super Pastel Mojave. You would have to bred a Pastel Mojave to a Super Pastel or pastel to hit a Super Pastel Mojave.

EmberBall Dec 29, 2006 10:27 PM

I read it wrong, read it as Pastel Mojave x Super Pastel, my bad, my eyes bad. It is a cool looking snake, lousy pics, but a cool snake. What does a Pastel Mojave look like, like that, similar? I guess I would like to see a pic of the siblings, and what a Pastel Mojave looks like. I will give you my camera when I get a new one

As for raining on my Mojave cross parade, please. I should produce some Super Pastel Sulfurs and maybe a clutch from a Sulfur Pastel x Sulfur Mojave next year, should be fun...as far as jealous, come on, that is high school or junior high garbage, I am in it for fun, and will encourage and support anyone's projects!

Lousy pics!? That's hilarious...maybe you can give him some photography lessons?

jnjreptiles Dec 30, 2006 08:48 AM

There is a pic of a pastel mojave in Kevins, and the Barkers book. MKR produced the first one, if there sight is still up they will also have pics .

pic sucks! snake is beautiful!!!

furcharlie Dec 30, 2006 02:56 AM

Sorry about pic. guys, but u get the idea. Some of the sibs look like normal pastels/mojaves, and half are like this guy. Cannot wait to see the super form of this!

bakerreptiles Dec 30, 2006 12:50 PM

Sounds like you got a pastel mojave when you when you thought you were getting a mojave. If thats the case, bad mistake on the seller, good karma for you! That would explain the outcome.

You said the Mojave was a male, did you by any chance breed him to any normal females? If you did and got some pastels & mojaves then that would confirm it is a pastel mojave.

And for those who dont care for Mojaves, you will be suprised at what is instore for this morph. There will be some morphs that will be created in the not so distant future using the mojave that will blow people away.

Thinking outside the box will take you further with breeding projects. Looking at a snake for what it is at face value is narrow minded and will only hinder your creativity when making your breeding charts.

One pic is not going to do it...we need a better pic of the snake, and a pic of the parents and a pic of the clutch...so please go take some more I do like the look!

breed it to a crapload of normals and then breed the offspring together to see if you get anything weird!

the normal offspring. That way you can test to see if there is a hidden gene at work.
