I have been looking through the "NET" to find a place that has cheap prices and high quality rodents for my green and RT. I was wondering if any of you have tried frozen baby chickins or quail? I found a site with some nice prices on the chickens and quail, and even better is there size as compared to a mouse.

` I found several meat rabbit breeders in my local, rural area. Stillborns and culls are just right for smaller snakes. Many just throw those away. If they can make up some of the loss by throwing them in the freezer, they usually will.
` Small rabbits run from the size of medium rats to jumbo rat size, say 200 to 600 grams. I found that some of the smaller breeders are happy to freeze them whole for me. I also found that some breeders just don't like the idea of snakes eating rabbits, even pre-killed. So, some think I'm buying whole rabbits for "reptiles". Others think I buy them for owl food. Up here, the loggers are fighting the environmentalists over Spotted Owl habitat. That is really a "dog and pony show". The loggers can't read, and the environmentalists can't bathe.
` I would worry about commercial fowl breeders using antibiotics, hormones and super hot feed. Awful things are done to commercial fowl. A Boid's metabolism just can't eliminate that stuff like a warm blooded critter can.
` I would also be careful not to mistake a show rabbit breeder for a meat breeder. Unless you are fast on your feet! Guess how I know that? LOL

Yeah, thats what I was curious about, how they whould handle any freaky chemicals and feed. The site says they are one day old chicks, so they couldnt have to much in thier systems. www.rodentpro.com

` I didn't know you were talking about Rodent Pro. I wouldn't expect them to sell anything not safe for snakes. I didn't know they were suppliers of fowl, too. I may order some from them, just for a little change.
