Here's some 2006 Southern Pines

Nokturnel Tom Dec 29, 2006 11:14 PM

I always hold these for a minute while cleaning cages and replacing water. These are just so cool...one of my faves. These are eating very little and growing very fast. A little tail rattling but they all were calm for this photo shoot. Hope ya like em Tom Stevens

The female is the golden one and she is really docile, I hope she holds onto this coloration.

The first pic of this Amel shows his colors well. The lavender is easy to see and he is super light yellow for most of hs body but his head and neck are white. I am not going to really try and figure out exactly what he is until he is mature, but he is really incredible.

Those are sharp looking!!! The golden one is great! I had a patternless male I raised up that had a copper sheen almost like the color of a penny, his colors got better with every shed, wish I still had that one. Kevin

I've been digging thru my snake pics trying to find a picture of that snake. I'll post pics if I find any. Kevin

Tom, those are some beautiful snakes. I love the "tuff" look they have about them. Kevin

Nokturnel Tom Dec 30, 2006 10:21 AM

Thanks Kev, they may look tough and can be tough but for the most part they're great pets. One of the things I love about Pits as opposed to Kings is it is uncommon for them to go into feeding mode while being handeled as some Kings can. See the size of these things? They eat a single fuzzy every 10-14 days. Occasionally once a week at this size. They grow like weeds. Hope you have a great new year Tom Stevens

Pines come out of the egg so large it is crazy. Again,,,in comparison to other colubrids this is a plus as they're not so fragile and finding appropriate sized meals is no hassle.

Great pics of those pines. How many times did you have to empty the camera memory to select those few? LOL!!!

Believe it or not I took maybe 100 pics total. Many more came out pretty good. Of all, the first pic in the first post was my fave, the tail shot of the Amel was also very close to the actual color of the snake too. I am never consistent when it comes to good pictures. Takes me forever but when I get some I am happy with I stare at them like trophies even though the snakes themselves are in the next room LOL! For the record I took about 50 more of some Corns and Kings and none were good enough to share on the forums.... ya win some ya lose some.
