Need Advice on Type of Snake..

pdm Dec 30, 2006 12:59 PM

I am looking to get a snake. I am not sure what species I want I just know what I do not want. I do not want a snake species that tends to be nervous/skittish nor aggresive/nippy or hissy.

The species I am currently looking into are western hognose, rosy boa & banana king.

Any advise/feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Pdm

Kings are good snakes, I personally dont care for the other two but I know alot of people like them. You might look into a spotted or childrens python also. They stay small and are very fun snakes.
Keep in mind that most baby snakes will be skittish and nippy, thats just the nature of being tiny in a big world.

Thank you, I will check into the Children's python also.

What makes them so "fun" in your opinion, if I may ask?

Thanks,

They are pretty active and seem to be semi arboreal so you can set up a nice looking cage and the snake will actually use the brances.
They are like having a small carpet python. And they just look cool.
