A few pictures I took this evening finally. All these pictures were taken by flashlight and then with a flash from the camera in complete darkness. A difficult way to photograph but I guess it works. First I shine the flashlight on the point I want to focus on, then focus the camera, then turn off the flashlight and then snap the pic. Sometimes all of this while holding the door up so as not to get a brilliant flashback from the flash on the acrylic surface. I hold the camera sideways so the flash goes into the cage rather than above the cage. Such is taking pictures in the low height cages that about half of my breeders are in. I also have to be careful to avoid getting nailed by some of these kids especially animals like these first Brazilians. They hate me you know. First a pair of Brazilians:

A close up shot I took. I'm not very good at these close shots. I wish I were...:

Another. This animals tail almost glows in the dark. I wish I could capture it:

A few pictures of a Pastel Albino Boa after I interrupted him doing his duty:

And last but certainly not least the father of this past years Pearlescent Boas working at it:

I love this time of year. The anticipation is great fun as we wait to see who ends up gravid and watch the babies appear eventually. I hope my Boas don't save the best for last like it seems they did to me last year...
