Fox Snake question

captnemo Jan 01, 2007 09:40 PM

Hi-
I recently acquired a snake which I am 90% sure is an Eastern Fox Snake. Are there any other snakes similar in size and pattern that also have a divided anal plate that anyone can think of (I'm much more knowledgeable about pythons than colubrids) What would be the best forum for this particular question? Also, does anyone have any idea as to the market value of this species, as I probably won't be keeping it. Thanks in advance.
Mike

I think Fox snakes are Elaphe vulpina, and that would make them a type of rat snake. You might check on the rat snake forum. Hope that helps.
