shipping question......

Looking for thoughts and/or opinions on DHL?

As I understand it their policy is Snakes are prohibited. I've also heard the "don't ask / don't tell" philosophy and many of the arguments about legality of shipping.

Bottom line is I have shipped with them many times and have even identified the contents on the shipping tag. Lately with increased security, I even have had to open the box for inspection prior to shipping. The DHL clerk now knows they are snakes and still not one comment about snakes being "prohibited". He even called over his co-worker to show him how big this one was (a 2006 baby BCI....sooo tiny) So it appears to me that snakes are allowed to ship via DHL. At least my local DHL office will accept them!

Six of one and half dozen of another,Freight is FREIGHT!
Theres no difference in a 25lb box verses a 25 pallet truckload a freight bill is a freight bill, point A to point B and thats all that really matters to the shareholders/investors(bean-counters)
With 27 years in this buisness I will drive a few hours to deliever an animal before I let a Logistics Outfit bounce my boxs. But if you have a "hookup" then roll with it.
As for DHL ..... they were in the crapper just acouple years back and all but folded, where the new investor(s) came from who knows for sure? Most certainly not of USA origin. Anyway its still freight and $ht happens in this buisness, some deadlines are met and truthfully most are not.You cant blame the Carriers, with most of todays workforce comprised of spoiled "You Owe Me" types its a wonder anything gets done........

Dont Ask Me No Questions,I wont Tell You No Lies!!

I used DHL for years, labeled and all that good stuff, couple months ago I tried shipping a motley boa, and I had to go pick the package up. Since then I go with fedex, it is pretty easy to get approved

What is the proccess of getting approved by fedex?

You need to call fedex and set up an account, then talk to your account manager, then ship them a box for approval, takes about 10 days, and costs nothing
