Pics w/ mossy background...DUW

Kevin_Arbogast Jan 02, 2007 10:30 PM

I was in the mood to take some photos, and I decided use moss as a background instead a plain solid color background. I am pretty happy with how they came out. I'd love to hear some opinions about the pics, as well as suggestions on how to improve my photos.

I like how they turned out as well and may take a page out of your book and use this idea I like.

Just wanted to pipe in here real quick and make a suggestion...

As far as the pics you took already, they look good, but I would suggest that you only use it with brighter colored animals (such as the pastel and yellowbelly pics which turned out great) versus with normals/spiders/axanthics. The reason I say this, is any animal with high brown to it will not stand out against the tans/olive greens/grays of the peat moss.

Hope this helps,
Dan

Thanks Dan, and I agree the mossy can take away from the ones with more subdued coloration. Here is a nice little one that I did on a plain white background.

Thanks Tosha, and the Moluccan is doing great. He is in shed right now, but as soon as he sheds I am going to try and take some new photos of him. He absolutely glows after he sheds!
