I like the way your rack is setup, but I have had limited success with the way your sliders are setup even though I cant see much detail in that aspect from the pictures you posted... could you post up an indepth picture of how your sliders are setup for your cages... It would be really appreciated

The trick is to design the runner for the tub to slid on properly.
1. Notice the 3 inch cut out angle, this would be where the tub is inserted the cut out allows to easly insert tub without hiting the water nipple hanging through the mesh the angle just makes it easier to insert the tub.
2. I cut all my runners out of one piece of 2x4 28" long as you can see.
3. attaching is easy, once all the runners are cut then you can go to town building shelves.

I know you said you make the sliders out of 2x4 but from the camera and angle those are not WHOLE 2x4... are you cutting 2x4 in half???... I would call the middle section a "riser" and the 2 side sections "sliders"

What are the specific dimmensions of the riser and the one slider.... I know the EXact dimmensions will change with application but I would like to know for mental referance if you dont mind...

Thanks for your help in this

They are 2x4s cut to lenght then I make to parallel cuts on the wide side 5/8 deep and 5/8 from each edge on a table saw which will give me the depth I need for tub clearance. Then after all cuts are made I set the table saw for the narrow side cut which will give you an upside down T when you look at the end of the 2x4. You now have riser and slider in one piece. Then I cut out about 3" of slider so tub fits in past water nipple.
Exact dimmensions will change with the tub you use and how deep the lip is. Mine where 5/8 X 5/8 that left 1 3/8 for the sliders.

Hope this helps. I did not draw plans, I just started building and made slight changes as I went.

HOLY CRAP.. so you mean that the sliders and riser setup you make is all from ONE piece of 2x4!!!!!!

my slightly imaginative brain would never think to do that... i would have made 3 different sections and nailed/screwed them together......(this trait I belive comes from metal working

please correct me if I'm wrong but thatnks alot for your explaination
