thinking of getting back into leo's

yellermelon2 Jan 03, 2007 07:26 PM

Hi I use to post here and on the bearded forum alot, I had quite a bad crash with my leos in the past, my entire collection was wiped out by...somthing....i went to 3 different vets with no answer..But that was the past I have now after a year or so decided I may try to get back into it, slowly, But I would like to raise some leos in the future. For breeding I was considering a DIY rack system..like those sterilite drawer things from wal mart, with heat tape on the bottom. Since I was prodominatly a hobbyist before Im not real sure on what i need to do this set up..Any info, or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Chris

Good luck with your decision. Raising geckos can be a very rewarding experience.

To build a rack system, you need some basic carpentry skills, basic tools, and material (including the plastic tubs).
There are questions to be answered like how much you would like to spend, if the geckos will be in a heater area, etc.

The best thing to do is a search on Kingsnake and the internet for designs.

Good links- http://www.exoticsbynature.com/boarack.html
Do a search on "Very Nice Jason. Thanks for sharing! Hey Draybar:"
Do a search on "Building a Snake Rack"
Do a search on "Great source for plastic tubs?"

That should get you started
