I've used everything from boxes, and toilet paper rolls to fancy petstore logs or porcelin hides. Many of my snakes(even the larger ones) love to go under their water bowls. It is very funny to see a big snake coiled under a little water bowl!

I' using a plastic dish pan with a hole cut in the side and flipped over. I put a second hide in and they didn't like it.

I use one of those upside down logs because it will also aid in shedding. They can rub up against it and help the process along.
