Metal Racks Update

SnakesAndStuff Jan 03, 2007 11:07 PM

I talked a while back about some of the metal racks I've been making for my rodents... they seem to be working fine and stack great!

Enjoy.

Nice racks. I'm new to breeding caging and have a stupid question maybe you can answer for me. I notice that your racks and all others use the fine wire mesh for food troughs. How do they eat from this? It would seem that they couldtn get food through that. Do they just knaw on it through the troughs mesh. thanks.... Jon

They can easily eat it through the mesh, and eventually work it down to size where it comes through the holes.

Where did you by the diamond shape mesh? and what is it called.

It is 1/2" flattened expanded metal. A friend of the family owns a very large steel yard around here, and it comes in handy when I need to fabricate something!

It's a fairly heavy metal and is weldable etc...
