first off being a success in this biz takes alot longer than 2 years. having the money to buy tons of snakes and breeding them is a very small part of being a successful breeder. I bred several different species back in the mid to late 90's and had very good success selling babies but did not have success in becoming a successful breeder. I was young (in my mid to late teens) and as such didn't have the dedication to put everything I had into the biz. I sold my entire collection of venomous and retic projects and didn't start collecting again until 4 years ago (at 24). I along with my wife have since built a modest collection of ball pythons, rainbow boas (have about 15 more on the way and no the list posted in my signature isn't up to date), and we will be adding retics into our collection again very soon. In the last few years I have spoke and became friends with several other breeders and have gotten some excellent pointers from them. We will be holding most of our animals back again this year. we are in this for the long run and I never intend to get out of reptiles again as this is my passion even if the bp market crashes, they are absolutely the prettiest animals available.
I WILL STATE IT AGAIN, BEING ABLE TO SELL A FEW ANIMALS IS NOT MAKING IT AS A BREEDER!!!
