Another Egg Update

PHRatz Jan 04, 2007 10:38 AM

One more was lost... it collapsed but there are still 14.
The vet said this time she is going to candle them to see if she can see anything or not.
She just hasn't done it yet.
She was out of town all last week & said when she got back they looked ok.. just because she was out of town didn't mean they were closed so there were people to care for the eggs while she was gone.
I'm glad she's going to do it this time.. I'd like to know sooner rather than later if there is anything in those eggs.

My eggs took only about 2 months to hatch. I was surprised because I had heard 3 months. Out of about 35 eggs, I think I got 7-8 babies. None of my eggs caved in, they just never hatched. I tried candling them but could never tell if there was anything in them or not.

Good luck. They are the cutest darn things when they are hatchlings.

It will be interesting to know if they are fertile or not. Maybe destiny just laid eggs because she is a healthy tortoise and they were never fertilized.
