anyone here used Sani-Chip before?

dragonsbynature Aug 08, 2003 10:12 PM

Looking to see if anyone has used this before with lizards and their comments on it. Also, if anyone knows a good place to get it wholesale or in bulk that would be great.

Appreciate any comments/feedback.

Kinta, my first dragon was kept on those where i bought her from, she ingested them, she was treated by a vet and we were able to get her to pass them but they caused internal injury and she died as a result of it, i would steer clear of anyting of the sort. Its terrible loosing a dragon to stupidity, even though she was on them before i got her, i still feel very terrible, she was the sweetest little dragon, and we miss her very much.

Reiko i'm very sorry to hear about your dragon. That's a shame. Always sad to lose a pet no matter what the cause is.

I should have been clearer, sorry about that. I'm not looking to use Sani-Chip for dragons. I know lots of people use it for snakes and some other lizards, which is why I was asking. I am considering using it for a new project I'm working on and figured I'd ask here because I know a lot of you and wondered what your opinions were, even though it's not a dragon related question.

Thanks for answering tho Reiko.. if it can cause that much problems with a dragon, makes you really wonder how safe it could really be for any another reptile.

Though, I think it's safer for snakes because they don't go around pecking at things and eating as often as dragons do... which is why it's probably a lot better for snakes. Still tho....

i know LLLreptile sells it in large bags, i go in there all the time and they have it, you might want to check their website, it may be good for other critters...

Check shows. I have seen it there,, well, down here that is. I like it because they tend to stay on top so you can see them. (snakes) But,,, the stuff gets every where. It's like static cling,,to everything,, like confetti .

I didn't use but a sample about the size of a shoe box and never bought more.

thanks Joel, interesting input. I've decided to scrap it from everything that I have heard. The search goes on!
